The Northbar Tackle Flying Squidis a true distance reaching Pencil Popper that provides an easy walking motion imitating a wounded baitfish. The fins at the head of the bait provide for even more surface commotion than a regular pencil, but also assist with stabilizing the bait when in the air, increasing casting distance. Just like the rest of the Northbar lineup, each lure is outfitted with the best quality terminal tackle, with Krok Swivels, 4/0 VMC Trebles, and Wolverine Split Ring.

Not so great. I was expecting a long range casting pencil popper. This is 1/2 a spook & 1/2 a pencil popper. It casts far & then you work it like a spook. On a 10’ rod keeping the tip down & twitching it is a lot on your wrist. When it gets 1/2 way in now you work it like a pencil. That the most effective retrieve. Using it like a pencil popper the whole time is NOT.
Tons of action. Great casting! Catches fish! Blues and stripers! SWE - get them in stock!
great lure
I love the team at Saltwaters Edge. Always patient and kind to me as well as others as I have noticed. About the lure. I used it heavily for about a week with ok results. I think it’s something good to try but not completely sold on it.
